On Saturday 7th November 2020, five teams from the Norwest Thunderdogs Flyball Club ventured south to Wollongong to participate in the Wollongong Wonder Woofs Birthday race meet.
It was an extremely successful day for those in black and gold, as two provisional racing dogs (Kevin and Lolly) lost their P-Plates, and Learner dogs Fuse and Sprocket entered the ring to launch their Flyball careers. We also bid adieu to 10 year old Ash as she hung up her Flyball harness and raced her last race before enjoying the life of retirement.
Excitingly, the day also saw the Norwest Thunderdogs T1 team break the Australian record for the fastest time in only the second heat of the day. The new record, now approved and recognised by the Australian Flyball Association, is 16.229 seconds with Thunderdogs Ivy, Link, Inferno and Bullet.
